Is it the end of the road for the Sweeney sisters? Perhaps not.
A number of you have written to me expressing your sadness over the possible ending of the Sweeney Sisters Series. I know what I said. It’s right here in print on the Note to Reader’s page at the end of the latest installment, Tangle of Strings.
But read the fine print carefully. Notice that I said, “at least for now, look for more from the Lowcountry from me in the months ahead.”
After writing three installments in quick succession—Lowcountry Stranger, Boots and Bedlam, and Tangle of Strings—I felt compelled to work with a different cast of characters for a change. And, after everything that happened to the Sweeney family last year, I felt the sisters needed a chance to catch their breath and create some new drama for me to write about. 😉
I’m finishing up a manuscript (working title Sweet Tea Tuesdays) that is also set in the Lowcountry. I’m excited about it, and I think you’ll enjoy reading it every bit as much as the Sweeney Sisters Series. For now, the future of that manuscript remains unclear as to when, where, and how I will bring it to you. I promise it will happen this year and I will share the updates with you as they happen. But, taking a break from the Sweeneys has accomplished my objective. My mind is buzzing with an idea for a new episode. But it’ll have to wait. For a little while longer anyway. Stay tuned . . . .
