Family. Career. Romance.

Inspirational and Heartwarming.

About AshleyAshley's Blog

For Your Binge-Reading Pleasure . . .

I borrowed the title, Dream Big, Stella!, from a line in the book when Stella’s mentor encourages her to dream big in terms of renovating the inn she inherited from the father she never knew she had. The title embodies the heartwarming and inspirational tone I wanted for this series.

I was halfway through the first draft of Dream Big, Stella! when the pandemic struck. I worked night and day during the worst of the quarantine months to get this series in the hands of my readers this fall. While these books are set in 2020, you will find no mention of COVID during your stay in Hope Springs.

Women need uplifting during the challenges we’re currently facing. While there is plenty of drama in the series, the main characters, the staff at Hope Springs Farm, encourage and support one another as they work together to accomplish their endeavors. The Inn at Hope Springs Farm is a fairytale resort where family is celebrated, friendships are made, romance is discovered, and dreams come true.

Enjoy your escape to the mountains of Virginia. Be sure to drop me a line and let me know what you think.

There are a few authors that I will read everything they write and Ashley Farley is one of them. Her southern novels draw me in and make me feel good. There is a complexity to the stories but always a happy ending . . .This is going to be a winner of a new series….after all, I stayed up very late to almost finish the book!

Ashley’s books are immersive and very hard to put down. I tend to read them in one sitting and then I’m sad when it’s over, so savor this one, it’s worth it. The characters and family dynamics/drama are relatable, twisty, and addicting . . . Lots of twists, a bit of romance, and as always FAMILY DRAMA. You’ll want to go to Hope Springs while reading and you’ll be so excited that Book 2 will be available right away! A big 2020 favorite and I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on it! 5 sparkly stars.

If you enjoyed the Sweeney Sisters series, you're gonna love Palmetto Island!

Birdie Fuller’s new year is off to a bad start. Her husband has mysteriously disappeared, leaving Birdie to cope with their unmarried daughter’s unplanned pregnancy. Birdie and Hannah disagree about the baby. Birdie urges her daughter to consider abortion, but Hannah is determined to see the pregnancy to term. When Hannah returns for her last semester in college, Birdie must face her demons, the problems in her marriage that drove her husband to clean out their bank accounts and run off with another woman.

While struggling to hide her pregnancy from her roommates and ex-boyfriend, Hannah interviews for jobs that will take her and her baby far away from her mother. After graduation, with months to kill before the start of her new job, she returns to Palmetto Island for the summer to await the birth of her baby. Tension mounts between Hannah and Birdie when they move from their waterfront home to a two-bedroom apartment above a bakery. Can mother and daughter mend their relationship? Or will they be lost to each other forever?

While this one may have been shorter than a traditional novel, it packed a lot of punch and set the stage in so many ways for the rest of the series.⁣
I love that her books are filled with so many realistic characters and situations. It makes the reader feel even closer to everything that unfolds. Also, she doesn't shy away from taboo topics like alcoholism, unplanned / single parent pregnancy, abortion, bullying, infidelity, etc. The best part is that she writes characters that you cannot help but fight for and these topics are discussed with tact and heart which can be difficult to pull off.
